Expect most included touring to require walking and standing periods up to 4 hours at a time (up to 2 times per day). Included touring may feature light hiking, and/or stairs on some hilly and/or uneven terrain. Learn More

Expect either half-day or full-day tours most days with a free day or free half-day to explore independently in most cities. A thorough representative tour from Sudan to the Mediterranean full of the best sites along the Nile. The hours were difficult to adapt to: 2 am departure; 1 am departure; 5 am wakeups. BUT for the money and breadth of experience it was WELL WORTH IT!! Not for the unfit: we counted between 10,000 and 15,000 steps per day. I lost four pounds in the trip…thank you!… education and exercise! If yiu have trouble walking don’t take this your. Parking is anywhere from 100 to 400 yards away from the temples over uneven ground. I’d do it again nonetheless!

Excellent value for the money. You will get to see all the major sites in ancient Egypt and experience modern Egypt too. Our guide was excellent! She was very experienced, knowledgeable, and spoke English very well. This is not a leisurely tour. Be prepared to be on the move most of the days, and experience some inconvenient and challenging situations. But it is worth it to experience Egypt more broadly.

What a magnificent tour! Our Egyptologist, Normeen, was so knowledgeable, telling the stories and history, and answering numerous questions from our group of 22. For me and my family, including my 89-year-old Dad, this was the trip of a lifetime, and I've been to 24 countries! Don't miss Saqqara Necropolis and Abu Simbel Temples excursions. I hope to take my grandkids on this Splendors of Egypt tour in the next few years. Am currently considering another SmarTours destination for this fall. YOLO: You Only Live Once. Do it!

This tour was an amazing experience. I had traveled to Egypt previously on my own and can honestly say that you get 1000% more out of visiting Egypt with a trained Egyptologist as your guide than going on your own. Our tour director, Khaled, was phenomenal. He is incredibly knowledgeable, energetic and an engaging storyteller, linking the history and mythology of each place we visited so that you can see the connections across the ancient world and right up to our world today. This tour packs in a lot over a short period of time, so you really get a lot of value out of this trip. The pyramids and temples are of course truly bucket list. The hot air balloon ride over Luxor was breathtaking, and excursions off the beaten path were unique and something we wouldn't have discovered traveling on our own. The tour is well organized and all the logistics are handled for you, so you don't have to worry about anything. I definitely recommend this tour!

Splendors of Egypt is an excellent tour of Egypt, combining learning Egyptian history and mythology along with current day information about the country. There were plenty of fun activities available such as camel riding, balloon rides, and boat rides. Our tour director was excellent. I rate this tour 5 stars out of 5.

What an incredible trip! We saw all of the major highlights of ancient Egypt, and things that were new to me. Our wonderful guide was there every step of the way to walk us through what we were seeing, so we didn’t need to lug around a guidebook (although we ended up getting a few books on Egypt because we wanted to know more). Having someone else handle the logistics was also a huge relief. I’ve travelled extensively in the past but always plan my own trips, and I never realized until I was on this tour how exhausting it is to deal with that. With someone else at the wheel on all the logistics, I could really relax and enjoy the trip. I was also worried about traveling in a group since I hadn’t done that before. It actually turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the trip. Everyone was so nice and easy to get along with, and it was fun to meet new people and have people to talk with and share our experience with.

This trip was definitely amazing. I highly recommend visiting Egypt at least once in your life. Smartours did not disappoint. Everything was well organized and punctual. Our guide Kallad was absolutely incredible. He was beyond knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and really made everyone feel at home. I would give him a 5/5 star review without a doubt. The reason for the 4/5 stars overall rating would be the fact that this was rather a large group. Smartours said between 15-25. Our group was 36 people which made it slower paced when traveling around. Please note I am 26 years old- our group was significantly older which was absolutely fine but definitely not a trip for meeting other young people. We did however meet some truly incredible people that made this experience one to remember.

This was a great trip, made especially so by our guide, Khaleed, a well-trained "Egyptologist" and a wealth of information. If the pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, the Egyptian museum and all the rest, and at a reasonable price, are on your bucket list, Smartours is the way to go.

Excellent tour. Our tour guide is extremely knowledgeable about and has a passion for Egyptian History. He is a Certified Egyptoligst. Used play acting with our group as a teaching tool to better explain and enhance our understanding of Egyptian History. He was very professional and took time to answer all of our questions. He also made sure everything went smoothly. Very efficient.
