The property is energy independent with a robust solar and rain catchment systems. We do not have air conditioning but the weather on the Caribbean is mild and we have north facing breezes. Temperatures vary from 75-85 degrees F (24-30 Celsius) year round.
Cala del Drago is perfect for those who prefer being immersed in nature to being in the ‘tourist’ zone of the bustling Caribbean town of Bocas on the other side of the island (15km). You will see monkeys passing by in the treetops from your living and dining rooms, as well as a couple of resident sloths, sometimes with a baby.
You can explore multiple beaches via jungle paths toward Playa Estrella, Yaris Nori Restaurant, and Bird Island Bungalows/Restaurant.
In addition to taxi and bus service, a complementary car and driver will take you to town once a week during your stay for errands and groceries.
The owners value beauty and comfort and have attended to every detail. Most indoor and outdoor furniture is imported and European craftsmen built all the doors, cabinetry, and carved accents from sustainable tropical woods.
