Visit famous Goathland, 'Heartbeat' village, take a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, or take in the charm of Whitby, renowned for the best fish and chips in Yorkshire. Located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Glaisdale is a peaceful village set amongst beautiful countryside in the heart of the Esk Valley. The settlement itself is home to a post office and the general store, an excellent butcher and one hotel with pub and restaurant. Slightly further afield is the seaside town of Whitby whilst the moorland villages of Hutton-le-Hole, Lastingham and Thornton Dale, as well as the market town of Pickering, are all within easy driving distance. Nearby Grosmont is the terminus of the North York Moors Railway, allowing visitors to take a steam-train ride through beautiful moorland scenery.
