There is a railway line at the boundary of the garden, which is a branch line operating services from Cromer to Sheringham once an hour, with a 2-carriage train running 6am to midnight (limited services at weekends and public holidays). Situated on the North Norfolk Coast, this popular holiday village has amazing cliff top views and a long sandy beach, popular with families and surfers, and from where Cromer Pier can be seen. There is a designated footpath on the doorstep, with circular routes and coastal paths adjoining. The beach and village centre with a variety of shops, two pubs, 9-hole golf course and village greens, are within walking distance. The traditional seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer are located a little further along the coast. Both offer a selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs and golf courses. Cromer, 1¼ miles, is famous for its pier with live entertainment (seasonal), and Sheringham, 3½ miles, is home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway which visits Weybourne and Holt. There are frequent bus and train services to Cromer, Sheringham and Norwich from the village. The house is well located to visit attractions towards the east of Cromer, including Happisburgh and Horsey Wind Pump, which is one of the best places to see seal pups on the beach without needing a boat. RSPB Nature Reserves, stately homes, parks and historical places of interest are all within easy reach. Other places to visit include Blakeney Quay, 13 miles, the pretty historic market town of Holt, 9½ miles, and the city of Norwich, 24 miles, with its excellent shopping, market square, cafés, restaurants, castle museum, theatre and cathedral.
