Culloden Battlefield, Fort George and the Clava Cairns are all close by, or for the whisky lovers, the Strathspey whisky trail is a must. Take in the magnificent scenery with a drive along the North Coast 500, tour the beautiful Isle of Skye, or explore the Cairngorms National Park with a chance to spot a golden eagle or the elusive osprey. Heading south, Loch Ness joins the Caledonian Canal at Fort Augustus and slightly further afield you will find Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain which towers above Fort William.
