Cartmel village, famous for its ancient priory is two miles away. It is also the home of a popular racecourse, hosting events throughout the year. Not forgetting the famous sticky toffee pudding shop and L’enclume, a Michelin-starred restaurant.
The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is a short drive or train ride away. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens and a golf course. Set amidst the southern lakes, the small village of Cark in Cartmel makes a superb base from which to enjoy the whole of the Lake District.
