Depart from New York
Your once-in-a-lifetime journey “Around the World” begins today with an overnight flight to the United Kingdom.
Arrive in London
After meeting your driver and guide at London Heathrow airport, we’ll take a panoramic tour of London’s famed landmarks, architecture, and historic sites. Our nonstop procession of “must-sees” includes the Houses of Parliament, Elizabeth’s Tower (Big Ben), Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Nelson’s Column, Marble March and more. After hotel check-in and a short rest, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
Doubletree by Hilton Islington or similar | Dinner
Today is a free day to sample the delights of London on your own. Make sure you use your included round-trip River Thames Cruise from Westminster Pier to Tower Pier. This stretch between Tower Bridge and Westminster Abbey is one of the most recognizable in the world. You’ll pass under eight bridges and see sights, like the Tower of London, London Eye and the Shard, from a fresh perspective.
On our way to a midday flight, we’ll drop by Windsor Castle, which most recently captured the world’s imagination as the venue for the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. We’ll admire the palatial home of over 40 monarchs before catching our flight to Egypt. At the airport, we’ll be met by a representative who will assist us with customs and formalities before transferring to our hotel.
Cairo Marriot Hotel or similar | Breakfast
After breakfast this morning, we’ll meet our Egyptologist guide and dive into the country’s past with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to over 120,000 artifacts that showcase the arc of Egypt’s amazing history. See mummies, jewelry, sarcophagi and the treasures of King Tut. This evening enjoy dinner with your group before heading to your next destination.
| Breakfast, Dinner
Take the morning to relax or explore before transferring to the airport for an overnight flight to Thailand.
Arrive in Bangkok
Bangkok beckons with a feast for the senses. Here’s your chance to sample its sights, sounds, and flavors on your own. Your local tour guide will offer plenty of ideas, but we strongly recommend that you don’t miss a chance to see the world-famous floating market by long-tailed boat. (See Optional Tours for details.)
Your Around the World adventure continues to exotic, spiritual Bali. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and provide the transfer to our resort in Ubud, considered the cultural heart of Bali.
Ubud Village Hotel at Monkey Forest or ARMA Museum & Resort or similar | Breakfast
Enjoy the resort’s pool and spa amenities or just relax before departing on an overnight flight to Sydney. The more adventurous won’t want to miss the chance to go white-water rafting on the Aung River. See Optional Tours for details.
Meet Australia’s fabled fauna at Featherdale Wildlife Park, home to one of Australia’s most comprehensive collections of native wildlife. Prepare to be utterly charmed by the adorable koala or take the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
With Sydney at your doorstep, how will you spend a free day? If you prefer adrenaline to relaxation, check Optional Tours for details about BridgeClimb Sydney. Or, check out the optional Full-Day Blue Mountains Deluxe Experience
Today is at leisure to enjoy the beach, pool, or choose an optional activity. Tonight, we’ll have a memorable send-off with a traditional luau and ceremony.

For connecting flights from LAX you will also need to recheck your bags in addition to clearing immigration. We recommend at least three-and-a-half hours. Please note that flight schedules are subject to change without prior notice.
ADVANCE SEAT ASSIGNMENT
Our selected airlines do not assign seats in advance, and smarTours is not involved in seat assignments. Seat assignments can only be arranged at the airport upon check-in.
PASSPORT AND VISA INFORMATION
You must possess a passport valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel.
Egypt: U.S. citizens require a tourist visa for Egypt, which may be obtained on arrival in Cairo for $28 (includes the visa and facilitation fee).
Australia: U.S. passport holders require an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority/visa) to enter Australia. This visa can be secured online before the trip by logging into the official website at https://www.eta.homeaffairs.gov.au/ETAS3/etas. Please follow the procedures as listed on the official website to secure the ETA/Visa and pay online any applicable fees.
Non-U.S. citizens should check with the respective consulates for current visa requirements to all their travel destinations.
Be sure that your passport has ample blank pages as most countries require a blank page. Please note that the U.S. State Department no longer issues additional passport pages, so you will need to renew your passport if you are low on blank pages. Please remember that it is your responsibility to obtain the necessary travel documents before the trip.
TICKETS AND FINAL DOCUMENTS
Your airline tickets, along with final instructions and additional travel tips, will be sent to you 7–10 days before the scheduled departure of your tour. Please make sure to advise us in case your address changes.
Immunizations are not currently required in any of our destinations. However, you may wish to consult your personal physician or local public health authorities as to their suggestions.
Our Around the World trip takes us to six destinations with varied climates. Please be prepared for everything from London’s famously foggy weather to Cairo’s desert heat and the tropical climates of Bali and Fiji.
NON-INCLUDED MEALS AND SIGHTSEEING
The hotels used on this tour offer several dining choices and will accept credit cards for your non-included meals. Optional sightseeing tours and evening activities will be offered.
CREDIT CARDS AND LOCAL CURRENCY
Hotels and some stores accept major credit cards. However, for “street shopping” you will need local currency or U.S. Dollars. Your hotels will be able to exchange cash to local currency. It is recommended that you bring along cash in small denominations.
Due to the limitations of both the airlines and the tour buses, each passenger may bring one piece of checked luggage (no more than 50 pounds), and one carry-on piece small enough to fit under the seat in front of you. We recommend that you do not over-pack and that you plan to layer your clothing with climate and comfort in mind.
