As the most remote island in Penobscot Bay, Matinicus Island is a wonderful place to take a deep breath and relax. The island has limited cell service and no stores or restaurants to distract you, but there are serene sandy beaches - some of which are accessible only on foot.
Things to Know
Before booking your reservation, it is imperative that you coordinate transportation from the mainland to the island, and from the landing dock to your rental. A short walk can feel like a very long walk when you have to carry all your luggage to and from the unit. This is a guest's responsibility.
