Our Cordyline Point guest studio is a delightful hideaway at any time of the year. Located just forty (40) minutes drive from Christchurch Int'l Airport, and slightly less from downtown Christchurch, the views from the slopes of Charteris Bay above Lyttelton Harbour are mesmerising.

THE SPACE
Our guest studio was designed to cater to discerning friends and relatives visiting from around the world. Many of those won't do without advanced comforts, desk space, and telecommunication infrastructure while travelling ... so all this became part of the architect's brief.

Thus, whether you travel for leisure or work, you will be pleased to find all corners covered, rain or shine, winter or summer.
The studio is self-contained with its own formal entry, terrace and pool access. It features a kitchenette with an induction hot plate, a microwave/convection oven, a large fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher.

In the en-suite bathroom, a washing machine and a dryer stand ready to keep your wardrobe presentable.

BED/DESK
The studio's bed is a double bed: 190cm long and 135cm wide. There is no additional sleeping option. Thus, if you travel with a partner you would rather not share the bed with, or are taller than 190 cm, then our studio may not suit your needs!

The bed design is a "Murphy Bed", or "HiddenBed': should you require desk space for work, then the bed folds up to reveal a large desk. The desk surface remains level throughout. No need to clear the desk before folding the bed down :-)

COMMUNICATION FACILITIES
The studio has its international direct dial phone line (VOIP). WiFi is complimentary. It is fast as it is SpaceX Starlink-based (uncapped volume).
The studio features a TV for free-to-view terrestrial DTV (NZ domestic channels and Al Jazeera). An Apple TV unit is connected to the TV.

HEATING / VENTILATION / COOLING
The studio is served by an indoor climate control system to ensure comfortable temperature year round. In addition, radiators and skirt-board heaters are installed.
Extended use of the pool terrace is made comfortable by an overhead infra-red heater. Makes for great extended evenings out on the terrace.

SWIMMING POOL
During summer, the pool is heated utilizing excess solar electricity (usually late December through March, but this can vary depending on the actual number of sunshine hours and the actual outdoor temperature).
The pool features two (2) counter-current jets, enabling sustained (stationary) swimming.

GUEST ACCESS
The studio is part of the main house, but is self-contained. It features a private formal entrance. A separate sliding door provides access to the terrace and the heated swimming pool.
