Summary: The chalet offered the opportunity to experience authentic living in Grindelwald. It is a very charming villa. The chalet was spacious and clean. Bathrooms looked recently remodeled. I could not have been happier with the chalet itself. But, when arrived I was a bit disappointed I had to make a 45 minute round trip walk to the office to pick up the key because we arrived after “office hours” of 5pm. A lockbox would seem to make a lot of sense. Using the bus may have been a bit more efficient but not much. It is also worth noting that the chalet is authentic in terms of being right next to an operational farm. The smell was not overpowering, but noteworthy. It’s location is about a 15 minute walk (mostly uphill) from the town center and most of the activity. We usually went up the hill once or twice a day for groceries, restaurants or skiing. We would take the bus if we didn’t have to wait too long. Finally, the cog train into town runs right in front of the chalet. It doesn’t run at night and isn’t very loud. But good to know.
