Firstly, please understand that WiFi service on this part of the island is very slow. Your cellular is quicker than our WiFi. So if you have important online work to do, this is not the place for you. Having said that, many of our guests use a cellular hotspot from their phones with good success.
We are the only rental on Daufuskie with a dock on the Intracoastal Waterway. All of our reviews for the past 3 years have been five stars.
The "DAUFUSKIE LOFT" is on the second/top floor of a recently built post and beam barn on the intracoastal waterway. Situated on the NW end of the island, the sunsets are spectacular.
There is a 50 foot dock , (deep water) available to renters with a covered seating area and large sink as well as water and electricity which makes this rental a one of a kind.
The LOFT is newly built and decorated with light, bright, spacious decor, cathedral ceilings and fabulous views of the intracoastal. Exquisitely constructed 700 square feet; THE LOFT has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, comfortable sitting area with a couch, chairs and a brand new queen size Murphy bed for great night sleeps. There is WIFI service, but no TV. THE LOFT is NOT pet friendly and NO SMOKING is allowed anywhere on the property. (thank you and sorry about that)!
And talk about location, location, location... the barn is located next door to Freeport Marina and provides easy access to the island's General Store and its restaurant, "Daufuskie Crab Company".
Daufuskie is a 5 x 2.5 mile island situated on the intracoastal between Hilton Head, SC and Savannah, GA.
YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE A FERRY, WATER TAXI OR PRIVATE BOAT TO GET HERE.
The following are your water transportation options:
**The Daufuskie Island FERRY: (Round trip $35/pp) (about a 45 minute ride)
departs from: Buckingham Landing, Hilton Head, SC
arrives: Melrose Landing, Daufuskie Island, (about 1/4 mile from LOFT).
Ferry Schedule: **ARRIVE 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO DEPARTURE**
departs Hilton Head: 7am, 10am, 1pm and 4pm
departs Daufuskie Island: 8:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm and 5:30pm
Parking is $10/night and can be collected by the attendant
There are also two WATER TAXI options:

** Bull River Marina out of East Savannah, GA
(Either of these can drop you off right on THE LOFT's dock)

If you are arriving by your own boat, just tie up on our dock.
We recommend you rent a golf cart from Tour Daufuskie or from Rocket. Both have dedicated one of their carts for THE LOFT and it will be in the driveway for your use,
(cart rental is not included in your nightly rental).
This is your best way to explore our amazing island and its charming dirt roads, pristine beaches, amazing wildlife, resorts, art galleries, museums, restaurants, farm, historic landmarks and so much more.

Bikes can be rented from "Sports Addiction".
Our wine shop will be open when you check in. We have a great selection of,
