Arrive in Anchorage

Welcome to Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. Upon arrival into Anchorage you will be welcomed by your local Tour Director at the hotel.

This morning, you’ll enjoy a city tour of Anchorage, featuring the historic downtown area as well as the Anchorage Museum, a world-class museum which seeks to preserve, exhibit, and interpret the art and history of Alaska. You’ll also have time in the afternoon to explore Anchorage on your own. You may also consider the unparalleled experience of flying over a glacier on a floater plane! Tonight, you’ll join the other smarTours travelers and your Tour Guide for a special welcome dinner.

Anchorage/Denali National Park

Today you will travel north to Denali National Park. En route, you’ll enjoy a visit to Iditarod Headquarters, where you will learn about the “Last Great Race”, the official state sport of Alaska and learn about the canine athletes who compete in it. Next, you’ll continue to Talkeetna, where you will board the spectacular deluxe dome rail for your journey north to Denali National Park. Once you arrive, you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy the Park at your leisure.

Denali National Park

Travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the vast wilderness for bears, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. This seven to eight hour journey is narrated and offers insight into the animals as well as the flora and fauna of this unique region. You’ll also have free time for optional tours, such as rafting, flightseeing, hiking, a visit to a local dog musher and much more.

Denali National Park/Seward

This morning, you will head south towards the coastal community of Seward where you’ll enjoy lunch at a local farm in the Matanuska Susitna Valley and learn about the farming history in this area of Alaska. You will then continue south along the scenic Seward Highway as you journey to your final destination of Seward.

Seward

Today you will travel through the majestic Kenai Fjords National Park on a 6-hour glacier and wildlife cruise. You will explore the face of a glacier and keep your eyes open for seals, sea lions, sea otters, whales, walrus, bears, eagles, and puffins throughout this half-day exploration cruise.

Seward/Anchorage

On your journey back to Anchorage, you’ll enjoy a visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where you will see Alaska’s wildlife up close. Tonight, share stories of your Alaskan Adventure with your traveling companions at a farewell dinner.

A second non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $300 is due 60 days after the date of your reservation. Explore Knik Glacier/Wildlife Flightseeing Tour

Fly over a Glacier! Take a Knik Glacier tour and experience a glacier and wildlife adventure. Soar over towering Knik Glacier – the centerpiece of Lake George National Natural Landmark. At 25 miles long and 5 miles wide, Knik Glacier is one of Southcentral Alaska’s biggest and most spectacular glaciers and towers above Knik River Valley – an area rich in vegetation, fish and Alaska wildlife. Add a landing at a lakeside inn for refreshments.
