Arrive today in the vibrant city of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. We’ll meet with our guide and begin our panoramic tour of Lisbon with its beautiful Gothic architecture and cobbled streets. We’ll pass the Praça do Comércio, a beautiful square commonly known as Terreiro do Paço; Mercado da Ribeira, an old market turned into one of the city’s favorite spots to eat and have a drink; Rossio Square and Avenida de Liberdade, the most famous and glamorous street in Lisbon where are the most expensive brands are. After breakfast, we’ll depart on our panoramic morning tour of ancient Olisipo, now modern-day Lisbon. Drive through the city’s main squares and avenues, and along the way we’ll see Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, the Coach Museum, Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square, and Liberty Avenue. We’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with a special opportunity to taste the local specialty, codfish. After breakfast this morning, we depart to Coimbra, the city of students, home to one of the first universities in Europe and the largest university in the country. We’ll stroll through the oldest part of Coimbra, made up of narrow and steep streets leading to a lovely overlook. After an independent lunch, we’ll depart this afternoon for Aveiro, located on the west coast and set on a lagoon. Porto

After breakfast at our hotel, we’ll explore the city of Porto, known for its well-preserved treasures including the Cathedral, the Tower of Clerigos, and the Ribeira (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Despite its reputation for the preservation of ancient monuments, Porto also stands out for its ultra-modern buildings like the Casa de la Musica, Serralves Foundation, among others which are admired by international architects. Enjoy free time this morning before our afternoon flight to Madrid. Upon arrival in Madrid we’ll be transferred to our new hotel. This evening is free to begin exploring Madrid independently.

Today we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of Madrid, the capital and the largest city in Spain. It is also the residence of the Spanish Royal Family. Among the city’s main points of interest are the Museum del Prado, known worldwide for its painting collection, the 18th-century Royal Palace (entrance included), the Plaza Mayor, a notable example of the 17th-century urban architecture and a major center of activity in Madrid. Toledo Excursion

We’ll depart this morning for the beautiful city-museum of Toledo, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe filled with artistic beauty and buildings from almost every period of history including Arab, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Toledo is named the “City of Three Cultures” because it served as home to the Christians, Muslims, and Jews. In the 16th century, it was also the residence of the great painter, El Greco. Madrid/Zaragoza/Barcelona

Early this morning we’ll depart for Zaragoza where we’ll have time to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, the place where Mary appeared to the Apostle Santiago before his Assumption to the heavens. After our visit we’ll continue on to Barcelona where we’ll check-in at our new hotel.

After breakfast today we’ll take a morning tour of Barcelona focusing on the Gothic Quarter, the heart of the Old City, and its historical center. Nearby, we will experience the Mercat de la Boqueria where we’ll have the chance to taste some Tapas at the market. Afterwards, we’ll visit the stunning Sagrada Familia. This afternoon is free to take an optional tapas and wine tasting tour or to explore Barcelona, the City of Modernism, independently. This evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner at a local restaurant with wine and a Flamenco show!

We’ll depart Lisbon and travel to Sintra, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site where we’ll discover the charms and history of the town that enchanted kings and poets. If the weather allows, we will stop at the western point of mainland Europe, Cabo da Roca. On the way to Cascais along the coast, be dazzled by the seascape. Next we visit Estoril, where Ian Fleming found his inspiration for the James Bond movies. Here we’ll see the gardens of the Casino before we return to the hotel.
