Have enjoyed every voyage with Smart Tours and will again.

My husband and I visited at the end of June for the longest days. Having sunshine until late at night was amazing (thankfully all hotels had blackout curtains!). The tour covered as much as possible within the one week with a domed train ride and bus to Denali. Breakfast on the train was terrific!!!!!! And we saw the peak of Denali. OUr tour into Denali was excellent although I wish our guide had pointed out more flowers as it was the height of wildflower season and the flower formed a carpet alongside the road. The boat trip on the Kenai Peninsula was excellent with some whales, a family of Orcas, the glacier and SUN!!!!!!!
Our guide Liz was bubbly fun and informative. Our driver, Jennie, was amazing and added great information at times. The mine people sent her up an impossible road and we got an extra sightseeing trip along that road even if it was somewhat perilous. Kudos to her.
The hotels were fine and what we expected. Gateway was the very best. Was unhappy to be told at the last minute about the hotel change from Hilton to Marriott in Anchorage as it meant changing bus transfer bookings I had already made.
The trip was good but we had to get up and be on the bus almost every morning very early which made it difficult and tiring for some of us. Also, SmartTours shouldn't use the first restaurant/bar we went to as it is too crowded and too loud. Second one (TapRoom???) gave us our our room and we could talk and enjoy the evening and the excellent food.
I would recommend this tour to people who want to see Alaska on land. Much better than a cruise.

The Alaska Adventure was very enjoyable!! The sites were amazing and such a beautiful place!! As much as we enjoyed Denali, it was a little disappointing that we didn't really see alot of animals (no fault of SmarTours). Maybe it was just not the right time of year.
SmarTours did a great job with the Itinerary (places of interest), just maybe re-arrange them (if possible), so the bus ride isn't such a long day.
The Kenai Fjords Tour was amazing! Probably a highlight of the tour, next to our Tour Guide, Janet. She was great and very interactive with the group.

Overall the trip was excellent. Weather was excellent. We were amongst the few travelers to the Denali National Park to witness Denali peaks, watched a fully breached humpback whale and watched a school of Orca's breaching at the Kenai bay. Drive between Anchorage and Seward was the most spectacular drive of the trip. Lodging and boarding were average in general but were the best available for the given locations. Denali Village lodge, however, was the most disappointing of the lot for lodging and boarding.
