Standing on a tiny island in the middle of the estuary are the ruins of the fort of Ínsua, built to defend the entrance to the river in the fifteenth century.

This enormous beach experiences some strong Atlantic waves which means high quality surfing. This town is also famous for the variety of good seafood and fresh fish restaurants.
