Your journey to India and Nepal begins as you depart on your flight from New York to Delhi via Dubai.

Arrive in Delhi. Tonight, meet your tour director, and be escorted to the hotel.

Following breakfast at the hotel, begin an exciting day of sightseeing! Starting in Old Delhi, you’ll take a fun rickshaw ride past the magnificent Red Fort and around the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. We’ll also bring you to visit the Raj Ghat a memorial site for Mahatma Gandhi. Later, explore New Delhi and see iconic sights including Qutub Minar, India Gate, the Birla Mandir (temple), President’s House, and more. In the evening, walk down Janpath Road to Connaught Place and then get a taste of the local life with a visit to an Indian home for a cooking demonstration…

Delhi

Today we will bring you to tour the impressive Akshardham temple, which features a blend of architectural styles from across India and was constructed entirely from Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble. You’ll find yourself in awe of its height and carved details of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians, and deities covering its surfaces from top to bottom. Afterwards, enjoy exhibitions show, which include insightful films and even a heritage-focused boat ride! You’ll then have lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel. Delhi/Agra

Depart from Delhi and head to Agra. Here you’ll experience the famed Taj Mahal! Visit this opulent mausoleum, which is one of India’s greatest feats off Mughal architecture, and make unforgettable memories as you learn its stories and stroll the dazzling landscape for fabulous photo ops.

After breakfast, head to Agra Fort, another architectural gem, to explore its amazing red-stoned walls, unique decor, and picturesque courtyards of this old-world structure that also serves as cherished royal tomb. Agra/Bharatpur/Ranthambore

Today you’ll hop on a train to Bharatpur. Along the way, stop to explore Fatehpur Sikri, a former capital city brimming with red sandstone buildings. You’ll have the chance to see Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal, and more. After our sightseeing and free time for an independent lunch, we’ll board the train bound for Sawaimadhopur. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time in the scenic surroundings. This evening enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Rise and shine for an early morning drive to the wildlife sanctuary at Ranthambore National Park. Join a local naturalist guide in search of elusive tigers as well as hyenas, jackals, and foxes. You’ll also pay a visit to the Dastkar Project, a program that utilizes the unique talents of the displaced villagers, especially women, to create traditional crafts and goods, thus generating income for the region. Early in the morning you’ll embark on a captivating boat excursion along the Ganges to admire people worshipping on the ghats (steps) and in the water of the river. After breakfast this morning we’ll journey about one hour’s boat ride to Elephant Island to see the Elephanta Caves, named for the stone elephant they found here. The temples here were carved during the Golden Age of the Gupta period and are predominantly dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Here we’ll find beautifully carved statues with the most outstanding being the Maheshmurthy or Timothy, an eighteen-foot high three headed bust hewn from a single rock and representing the three aspects of Shiva: the Creator, the Preserver, and the Destroyer.
